How it works

1

Open the app, pick a plan

Choose how many gigs and how long. Multi-month packs are cheaper per month.

2

Add your eSIM in 90 seconds

Built into your phone. No SIM card, no store visit. Old-school physical SIM is a fallback if you want it.

3

You're live

Data flowing. Top up anytime. No surprises.

Transparency

Why we're cheap

We don't do the stuff that costs money. And we pass that to you.

No stores

You can't walk into a Hefty store because we don't have any. App + web is the whole product.

No call centre

Rich help centre. Chat is human-on-demand only. Way cheaper. Way faster to answer.

No billboard budgets

We're not selling dreams on billboards. The network speaks for itself. Word of mouth does the rest.

No CEO on a soapbox

You'll never see us in ads promising a "premium experience." We're cheap because we cut costs, not corners.

NETWORK

Powered by the 2degrees network.

All the coverage you're used to. Same towers, same speeds — minus the contract and the markup.

CLOSED BETA

Closed beta · limited spots.

We're letting in the first few hundred testers ahead of public release. Real plans on the real network, and a direct line to the team. We listen, ship fast, and tell you what we're working on.

FAQ

Common questions.

An MVNO ("Mobile Virtual Network Operator") is a brand that runs on someone else's physical network. Same towers, same coverage, different brand and pricing. Hefty's an MVNO running on the 2degrees network.
It is the 2degrees network — same towers, same speeds on the day-to-day. The technical difference is invisible to you.
Yes — you can port your number from your old provider during sign-up in the app.
We'll refund any unused balance. The eSIM can be removed in settings; we'll talk you through it. Real human support via in-app chat.
Most phones from 2018+ have eSIM support. Add Hefty as a second line, or replace your current SIM. The app walks you through it.
Soon. We're letting in early testers in batches and watching the network performance, support load, and what people actually use. Public launch follows when those signals are right.
FROM THE TEAM

Hefty's a small team in New Zealand. We've spent years frustrated with what telcos charge and how they communicate, and we're building the alternative we'd want to use ourselves.

The closed beta is real plans on a real network. We'll listen, ship fast, and tell you what we're working on. Welcome to the early days.
